Visualisers are handy tools that can be used in the classroom to assist with teaching. They allow you to project worksheets, examples of students’ work, and objects onto your projector screen in real-time.
But how do you set one up and use it? Below is a walkthrough with pictures (refer to attachments).
What You’ll Need:
Plugging Into the Computer:
On your desktop computer, plug the visualiser into one of the USB ports. You’ll hear a sound once it’s connected.
Going to Google Meet:
Visit Google Meet (https://meet.google.com/landing). On the landing page, click "New Meeting," then select "Start an Instant Meeting" from the three options provided.
Permissions:
When prompted, allow Google Meet to access your camera and microphone by clicking "Allow" for both while on the site. Test it by placing an object (e.g., a worksheet) under the visualiser to check if the orientation is correct.
Orientation:
If you notice the camera is flipped or reversed, use the buttons on top of the visualiser to adjust it. Press the "Left/Right" and "Up/Down" buttons to orient the camera correctly (refer to "Left-Right Button" and "Up-Down Button" attachments).
